William was born and raised on the South Side of Chicago and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Film from Columbia College. While there, he made his first short children’s film. “Lemonade Stand-Off” was an amusing tale about a teenager and a 10 year-old-boy who open competing lemonade stands across the street from one another.

For his graduating thesis film, Whirity directed an award winning short film titled “Zombie Island.” This horror comedy was well received on the festival circuit and has screened both domestically and internationally. During its festival run, the film caught the eye of Atom Films who acquired it for online distribution.

At the age of 20, he directed his first feature length film – a teen comedy entitled “Broke.” This film enjoyed a healthy festival run and was picked up for distribution by Echelon Studios. It is now available on DVD.

Whirity recently finished post production on his independent sci-fi children’s television pilot about a boy inventor entitled “The MisInventions of Milo Weatherby” and is working on his next project, a children’s horror project titled “paraNormal.” He also has an 80s Horror Movie review website called Down in the Basement. Whirity currently resides in Los Angeles, CA.
